Donna will use two images of Echo. The first is a photograph of the statue La nymphe Écho by the sculptor Paul Lemoyne. It was created in 1922 and is in the Louvre.  The photograph appears on the cover of Donna’s book.

The second image is a painting of Echo and Narcissus by John William Waterhouse.  It was painted in 1903 and is in the Walker Gallery in Liverpool. Waterhouse has attracted criticism for his salacious depictions of young nymphs. Manchester Art Gallery recently sought comments on Waterhouse’s work when they temporarily removed one of his paintings from display.
